3850683 & 3852414 - Volvo Penta SX-C OMC Cobra aft connection trim cylinders
The trim system with the aft connections is the first generation used on OMC - SX Cobra trim cylinders. The trim cylinders 3850683 & 3852414 are no longer produced, and have been replaced by the later “fore connection” trim cylinders. Although these units are old and obsolete, they are very reliable and easy to maintain. Poseidon Marine offers a comprehensive repair list to maintain your units in top-notch condition.
The trim hoses are different on the port and starboard side, thus we advise to be careful when ordering. The port side requires two hoses, with the following references:

Hydraulic hose power trim port DOWN replaces 3853856 (#1 on the drawing)

Hydraulic hose Volvo Penta SX-M OMC Cobra Port UP replaces 3853857 (#4 on the drawing)
For the starboard side, the following hoses are needed:

Hydraulic hose power trim starboard DOWN replaces 3853854 (#1 on the drawing)

Hydraulic hose Volvo Penta SX-M OMC Cobra starboard UP replaces 3853855 (#4 on the drawing)
When replacing the trim hoses, don’t forget to place new sealing O-rings “Recmar® o-ring for trim hose to cylinder Volvo Penta SX 3852165 18-7141”, which are depicted on the scheme under reference number #5. The same reference is used on the other side of the trim hose, which is connected on the oil splitter “Poseidon Marine® Hydraulic Manifold Block for Volvo Penta SX replaces 3852559”.
The trim cylinders are held in place with two pivot pins 3853422. One is attached on the transom plate, while the other on the aft side of the outdrive. It is advised to renew from times to times the following fasteners and hardware:
